Expert assessment for leadership in hiring situations and coaching. Contracting freelance and occasionally in collaboration with The RBL Group for multinational companies based in Switzerland. Selected as an executive coach with financial sector companies headquartered in Zürich, including coaching in a large Swiss Bank; engaged as an expert leadership assessor for a Big Four Firm in Switzerland; and presently developing a new model for organisational entrepreneurship.

2020 Group, a unique collaboration of experienced turnaround specialists, was founded to help companies to achieve their true potential. Some of these companies were experiencing difficulties in the face of macro-economic change, and others were brought to our attention by their bankers or investors. In company turnarounds and reconstruction, mainly acting on the instructions of Joint Stock Banks, 2020 Group has worked in liaison with National Australia Bank Group Europe Ltd, The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc, and Lloyds Banking Group plc. Venture capital interests included from 3i Group plc, Scottish Enterprise, UK Steel Enterprise Ltd, and private investors.

ADVANCED MANAGEMENT PROGRAMME IN SCOTLAND 
UNIVERSITY OF EDINBURGH

Co-led the redevelopment of the international executive learning programme. Led the marketing and acquisition of corporate sponsors and participants from The Ford Motor Company, Ernst & Young, Rolls-Royce, Zurich Financial Services, HSBC, UBS, and others. Also, contributed to the facilitation of the agreement to establish the KPMG Executive MBA Programme. Faculty from Edinburgh, Michigan, INSEAD, Harvard.

NORDOFF ROBBINS MUSIC THERAPY IN SCOTLAND
Non-remunerated role running alongside employment. Established the Scottish Silver Clef Music Awards securing participation from renowned contemporary musicians and gaining sponsorship from companies and high net worth individuals. Subsequently, elected as a member of the fundraising committee for Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy, London.

NATIONAL & PROVINCIAL BUILDING SOCIETY
Employed by National Provincial Building Society (FCA regulated) and a private practice law firm. Successfully growing business in the private home owner mortgage market and estate agency (growth >200%). Accepted as a Fellow of the National Association of Estate Agents.

 

PRIVATE ENTERPRISE 

Founded Charles Barber Property Services operating on the west coast of Scotland. Business focused on property renovation for private, civic, and business clients, including Marine Harvest (salmon farming subsidiary of Unilever), BBC, Courtauld Family, Hit & Run Music Ltd., Strathclyde Regional Council, and Argyll & Clyde Health Board. Contract values up to GBP100k. Managed sales for private property on the Inner Hebrides.
